Frequently asked questions
What is a progressive slot jackpot?
A jackpot that grows every time the linked machines are played and doesn't reset until someone wins. Standalone progressives build on one machine, linked progressives pool a bank within a casino, and wide-area progressives link thousands of machines across Nevada.
How often do Las Vegas progressive jackpots hit?
It varies with the prize size. Smaller linked jackpots can hit daily, while wide-area prizes may go months or longer between hits. The larger the prize and the rarer the triggering combination, the longer the expected time between wins.
What happens when a progressive jackpot is won?
The meter resets to its seed amount and starts climbing again. Nevada casinos verify large wins with the Gaming Control Board before paying, and wide-area prizes are typically paid by the game manufacturer rather than the casino.
Are the jackpot amounts on SlotStatsVegas real-time?
Amounts tick live to model progressive growth from the latest reported figures — casinos don't publish real-time feeds. Treat them as close estimates and confirm current amounts at the property.
